Description

GOLDEN GLOBE WINNER & BAY AREA PREMIERE! “Heart-wrenching” and “edge of your seat” sum up this daring drama, which spares no punches in capturing the emotions experienced by Katja (Diane Kruger of Inglorious Basterds, National Treasure) after both her husband (Numan Acar of Homeland) and her six year-old son die in a bomb explosion. After serving jail time for selling drugs, her husband—a Kurdish immigrant from Turkey—had changed his life around and opened an accountancy office in Hamburg. However, his former occupation and his nationality provide the German police with two potential motives as to why he was targeted. Soon, two suspects are arrested and put on trial. The gripping final scenes make us reflect on the thin line between justice and revenge. In the Fade is Germany’s submission for Best Foreign Film to the Oscars. Viewer discretion advised: Adult themes and violence.

Underwritten by Dr. Shira and Efi Lubliner; Bette & Stewart Schuster.
