The question of identity is at the core of this sensitive and touching film. Each week, 20-something Arielle shares Shabbat dinners with her close-knit family, while chafing at the restrictions placed on her in Mexico City’s Syrian Jewish community. Marriage, she is told, must be to someone from the exact same heritage. When a non-Jewish man enters her life, Arielle must decide who she is and who she wants to be.
