Graced by strong performances, this superb drama is set in the years just before WWII. The life of a naive young man from a small Austrian town is changed forever after he moves to Vienna to learn a trade from a tobacconist. Soon, he will befriend Sigmund Freud, confront rising anti- Semitism, and—most importantly—refuse to be a bystander.
