Become a Donor and Build Community...One Amazing Film at a Time.

When the Covid-19 pandemic changed America’s cultural landscape in the spring of 2020 and forced us to adjust our “sails,” it was the support of our donors and pass holders that enabled us to fulfill our mission, to build community…one amazing film at a time. Through the power of cinema, we connected our local Jewish community with diverse religious and ethnic groups, encouraged inclusion, and educated about the ramifications of prejudice, antisemitism, racism and homophobia.

Watching a Movie

Now more than ever, we ask for your generous support as we look to presenting an exciting hybrid 2023 Festival. We will screen films at the Century 16 (February 25 – March 2) and one week later present a virtual (online) event, streaming the same films (and even more titles) that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. We will also screen films at the Vine Cinema in Livermore.

For our 28th year, and consistent with the practice at many theatres for a number of years, we will be providing assigned seating for all theatre showings so that lining up in the lobby will no longer be necessary. Pass holders will continue to receive priority seating and select their seats before the Festival begins and prior to individual ticket purchasers. Our Festival will also feature speakers who will provide valuable insights and place our films into their historic and societal context.

The costs to support both the in-theatre and online Festivals, including theatre rental, technology, the online streaming platform, film performance fees, and speaker honoraria have risen since the start of the pandemic; ticket sales cover only a fraction of these costs.

Your annual donations and supporter level participation during the festival provide the vital resources to support our mission of building a vibrant cultural community, using films that celebrate the Jewish experience and expand the general community’s understanding of Israel, Jewish history and Jewish society. Thanking you in advance.
